2025 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II interior

Introducing the luxurious Duality Twill textile for the interiors of new Rolls-Royce vehicles, a sophisticated rayon fabric crafted from bamboo. The twill is embroidered with an artistic ‘Duality’ graphic, drawing inspiration from the abstract intertwining of the two 'R' initials of the marque's founders, the Hon. Charles Rolls and Sir Henry Royce. The design showcases a nautical influence, reminiscent of the interwoven rope lines found on sailing yachts — a subtle nod to the French Riviera.

Developed over more than a year in collaboration with a master weaver now based at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, the fabric is inspired by the extensive bamboo grove in Le Jardin des Méditerranées on the Côte d'Azur, neighboring Sir Henry Royce's former winter residence, Villa Mimosa.

Rolls-Royce Duality Twill embroidery

Creating a full Duality Twill interior is an intricate process involving up to 2.2 million stitches, 11 miles of thread, and taking 20 hours to complete. Each panel is individually prepared and cut using a specially developed laser to seal the edges and prevent fraying. These carefully positioned and stitched panels create a seamless whole, used to upholster the vehicle's seating.

The base twill textile comes in three colors — Lilac, Chocolate, and Black — with thread available in 51 hues, allowing clients to personalize their design for a bold contrasting effect or subtle monochrome. This exquisite material can be further dramatized with bold Bespoke colorways, enhancing the remarkable new finish for Black Badge clients.

Leather Work: Rolls-Royce Placed Perforation

Rolls-Royce Placed Perforation

Alternatively, clients may opt for leather interior upholstery with Placed Perforation —an innovative craft technique where small perforations in the seat leather create unique artworks. These perforations vary in size to give the illusion of depth, enabling the creation of detailed and seemingly three-dimensional graphics.

The initial pattern, inspired by the shifting shapes and shadows of clouds over Goodwood, comprises up to 107,000 perforations of 0.8 and 1.2 millimeters, each individually examined to ensure uniformity.
